Masked and Anonymous

I don't want you to see me this way...

but will you recognize me...

Again and Again and Again

You said the anger would come back
just as the love did.

I have a black look I do not
like. It is a mask I try on.
I migrate toward it and its frog
sits on my lips and defecates.
It is old. It is also a pauper.
I have tried to keep it on a diet.
I give it no unction.

There is a good look that I wear
like a blood clot. I have
sewn it over my left breast.
I have made a vocation of it.
Lust has taken plant in it
and I have placed you and your
child at its milk tip.

Oh the blackness is murderous
and the milk tip is brimming
and each machine is working
and I will kiss you when
I cut up one dozen new men
and you will die somewhat,
again and again.

The Trade Off

To occupy our time in between Saturdays, we decided to trade off items to incorporate into our own photos. It gives us a reason to shoot, and we wouldn't want the blog getting stale, now would we?

For our first trade off, I was lent a fan. It's wooden and light with these darling little flowers. Here are some shots so far from the 'fan shoot'.

Just drive

Still bitterly cold and with no definite plan, we decided to just drive.

A mill in Whitinsville, MA

The mill that recently burnt down in Uxbridge, MA. I'd also like to add that we had our first taste of danger sneaking into this fenced off area.

The Millville gorge we stumbled upon.

Ami documenting the gorge.

Later we went thrifting for potential costumes...I love this shot.

Seeking shelter indoors

The second time we gathered, it was too cold to even brave venturing outside. So, we opted to use the "black room".
Maybe I will always haunt you
My camera had a difficult time getting quality shots that day...but I managed to find some favorites. I almost deleted this upon first sight, but then the idea of a haunting came to mind and I decided I liked it.

She is living in and out of tune
Such beauty, and no photoshop.

There is blood for every month
Some days I feel I should go headless.

i'm your passenger

christy and i drove around a lot today. you could call it scouting, i guess.
i have entire list of all of these architecturally pleasing places to visit. however, winter time hinders us a bit. today it was decided that until more accommodating weather surrounds us, indoor photo shoots will occur on our saturdays.
i also decided today that i need to toughen up if i am ever going to survive in iceland.
here are some of my shots from the day.

You electrify my life. Let's conspire to ignite, all the souls that would die just to feel alive.

Life will flash before my eyes. So scattered and lost. I want to touch the other side

Come into my life, regress into a dream. We will hide and build a new reality

I wasn't quite sure what along with these photos. However, listening to Muse and finding their lyrics to fit quite nicely and well, there you have it. These photos were taken on January 17th. It was, again, bitterly cold. Only this time we were not feeling as brave. So we opted for an indoor photo shoot. With the use of an unoccupied room and an underused bench we managed to get a good amount of shots. I really like how a lot of these photos came out and will post more as I finish them

The Creeps vs. Castle Hill Farm

Castle Hill was Ami's pick for the week and a marvelous at that. In fact, it was a good thing Ami was there to be nice to the boys with guns. I walked by silently with some irritation showing on my face...but she immediately said hello. She's much better with people than I am.

I love the look of abandoned places. The inside of this place was a little ruined by graffiti, but the outside alone was worth the trip. I've never seen half a house before, and there was even an abandoned truck. Perfect. I'd like to go back- preferably at a time when there's no one else there, to explore some more.

I have to say it was so bitterly cold that day. Those cheeks are pink for a reason! No makeup needed. And I could hardly work the camera with those thick gloves on.

Oh, also it needs to be said that working on these pictures was the first time I've ever used photoshop. Ami's a fucking pro, so just know that I have no idea what I'm doing yet.

so it begins

on january 3rd 2009, we decided to begin our photography project. the first location chosen was, castle hill farms.

it was a very cold morning, and upon arriving we were greeted by the sound of rapid gunshots and someone in fatigues running across roof tops. the shots later proved to come from paint ball guns, but imagine our fright. we decided to venture on despite the initial apprehension. with some friendly chit-chat on my end, a treaty between their endearingly nerdy little group and the two of us had been met; there would be no gun shots in the building without a warning first.
seemed fair.
so on we went. with frozen fingers & toes, with wind slap cheeks and red noses. with 16 year old boys curious eyes, with each other, we took photos.
